Our newest episode has us covering more Fantasia Film Festival offerings, this time in the form of a video game adaptation, a zombie flick that cuts close to home and a suspenseful French-Canadian twist on the idea of vampires. First up is Detention (返校) directed by John Hsu 徐漢強, which is an adaptation of the game of the same name that follows a group of students who defy book ban orders in Tiawan during the White Terror. After that is Bleed With Me, directed by Amelia Moses, a tale of friends who go on vacation to cabin where things quickly turn strange becuase (you guessed it) things aren’t quite on the up and up. The final movie this week is Yummy, a Belgian zombie flicks directed by Lars Damoiseaux that’s as heavy on the gore as it is the laughs and may or may not be based on Rigby’s life.
