With a history as storied and long as Napalm Death’s is, you know they just had to have some shit kicking around that no one had laid ears on. “Coded Smears And More Uncommon Slurs” is made up of just that exact kind of track, featuring unreleased and rare tracks spanning from 2004 up to 2016.They’ve already released one track, “Oh So Pseudo“, which is from the 2014 recording sessions for “Apex Predator-Easy Meat.” The track they’ve just released, “Call That An Option?” is a bit older, originally recorded for 2006’s “Smear Campaign.”
Napalm Death will also be accompanying Slayer on the second leg of their North American farewell tour, beside Lamb of God, Testament and Anthrax. Of the tour, Bassist Shane Embury commented: “Napalm Death are very excited to be part of the second leg of Slayer’s farewell tour! Having been a fan since back in the day, I never would have thought when I bought the import copy of “Show No Mercy” that playing grindcore would catapult us into this universe. We’ll see you in July!”
“Coded Smears And More Uncommon Slurs” is available March 30th and you can preorder a copy from their site. Of course, it comes in standard black vinyl as well as a cavalcade of colours for anyone who needs’ weird coloured grindcore albums. See: me.
