NEW ALBUM! Portuguese Speed Metal Maniacs Toxikull To Release “The NightRaiser”

Portuguese speed metallers Toxikull have a new EP featuring a bit of an unexpected cover, at least coming from this world. The new album, “The Nightraiser”, is a six track 26 minute blast that features pretty much anything you’d require from a solid speed metal release – blazing fretwork, a solid rythem section and relentless vocals. Frontman Lex Thunder had to say of the new album: “It’s an appeal to rebellion and some social criticism. Music-wise, this EP is a bit different from ‘Black Sheep’ – it’s faster, stronger and more aggressive. The influences of the music from the past are also a bit different, this one’s a more on the speed/heavy metal side.”

An often overlooked but immensely important aspect of any album (especially when it comes to metal) is the cover art. If it sucks, it’s going to be hard to get people to take a look at it in the first place, even if the music contained within is amazing. Thankfully for Toxikull, they enlisted Italian artist Velio Josto who crafted the cover for the new EP as old school as he could, not utilizing any digital tools. Oh, and about that cover song i mentioned at the start – it’s a pre-Guns and Rosestrack from Axel’s band Hollywood Rose entitled “Rocker.” Watch out for the new EP dropping March 23rd.

Tracklist:
01. Nightraiser
02. Surrender or Die
03. Hellmaster
04. Freedom to Kill
05. Satan Bloody Satan
06. Rocker (Hollywood Rose cover)
