French Doom Metal band Conviction was intially a side project, side project of Amduscias from Temple of Baal and they have now announced the release of their new single, “Outworn” off their upcoming 2018 album.

“Outworn” features alongside “Tedium” on the Conviction bandcamp, both tracks serving as pieces, one old, one new, documenting the tread towards a full album release.

Of these two tracks, Amduscias has said – “Those two tracks deal with time, and the damage it does to both human relationships and self esteem.”

Both tracks are dark..  beautiful, even, but communicate an intense longing.
There’s grief present in both of these, and at points, I found myself becoming very emotional while listening to them.  Time doesn’t heal all wounds, and this was made very plain with “Overworn”.

This release is downloadable for free on Conviction’s bandcamp.

I can’t wait to see what Conviction’s upcoming album is going to sound like.
