Hey there cool cats, how is it going this week? Did you spend your weekend cloaked in a weed and coffee haze, vaguely sweaty with your eyes only partially open? If so, join the club, because that’s my life in a nutshell at this point. Like, can someone just make that rad bong that the one guy had in Cabin in the Woods, because that caters to all of my interests.. weed and coffee. Just put it in my face please.
Anywho, after last week’s fuckery of that shitty pop punk band, I wanted to share this special THRASH piece for this week’s Trash/Thrash Tuesday, with the new offering from PRAYERS, “Black Leather” featuring the always beautyfull Kat Von D.
Look, love or hate PRAYERS, they’re doing something entirely new, combining two unlikely bedfellows of the goth and the cholo subcultures. The marriage is a beautiful one, and I have been a huge fan of PRAYERS since I heard them. In a world of clones, PRAYERS is definitely a stand out, and this new track combines just enough pop hook with spooky goth edge. I love it.
No cross to burn
Broken glass on the floor
I’m sheddding my skin
I’m letting go
Just like the seasons
People come and go
Just like the seasons
People come and go
My blade is kind
My hand is cold
Approach me with caution
Because I’m losing control
Black leather possesses my soul
Black leather possesses my soul
…..possseses my soul
I’ve dragged these bones
Across the floor
My body resembles
A broken home
Touched by the light
Deceived by a dream
I walk in the shadows
Just to be seen
The sinner in me
Has a card up his sleeve
Wandering nights, unable to sleep
Unable to see
Unable to see the forest for the trees
I’m counting my blessings
I’m shedding my skin
Let my ashes dance with the wind
I’m counting my blessings
I’m shedding my skin
Let my ashes dance with the wind
I’m counting my blessings
I’m shedding my skin
I’m letting go
Just like the seasons
People come and go
Just like the seasons
People come and go
My blade is kind
My hand is cold
Approach me with caution
Because I’m losing control
Black leather possesses my soul
Black leather possesses my soul
